Salem Lutheran School Band as an elective for 5th-8th graders.  In band, we get the opportunity to develop students’ God-given abilities and help them nurture and grow as young musicians.

  • Students will learn to play a woodwind, brass, or percussion instrument.
  • No prior experience is necessary.  We teach all skill levels.

Band costs a fee of $250 at the start of each semester. This cost covers private lessons, a yearly subscription of smartmusic (practice software for school laptops), and a method book.

o   The Band private lesson instructor is Mrs. Melony Quinn. Mrs. Quinn is a trumpet player who has experience teaching middle school bands in Milwaukee, WI.

o   Band private lessons take place on Thursdays throughout the school day.

o   Due to band class only being during elective period in school twice a week, band lessons are required.

Violin Program

  • American Folk
  • Fiddle

Salem Arts Academy Music Lessons

We are very excited to offer Drum, Piano, Acoustic Guitar, Electric Guitar, Bass Guitar, Banjo, Ukulele and Voice lessons this year through the Salem Arts Academy.  The Salem Arts Academy offers some of the best teachers in Houston who will be coming here to teach your students on campus, giving you the convenience of not having to drive all over Houston to find them!

We will be adding lesson slots and teachers this year, but space is still limited.  We will work very closely with the school to find a time in your student’s schedule that works well.  However, we cannot promise the perfect time so thanks in advance for your flexibility.

Lessons will be booked on a first come first served basis as long as we can find a time that works well for your student on the days the instructors are here.  You can request lessons by following this link:
