2021-2022 Chapel offering mission focus
Throughout the year, Salem students are given the opportunity to love and serve the people in our community and beyond through the giving of their chapel offerings. Giving is never required, but rather an opportunity for us as the Salem Family to share the blessings that God has given us with those who are in need.
Students are welcome to bring monetary gifts in to chapel on Wednesday mornings. Parents and Salem friends are also welcome to support our mission focuses through online giving.
homes for hope
Salem Lutheran School students will raise funds to help build a home in Honduras. Hurricane Eta wiped away the homes for residents of Chamelecon. Our goal is to raise $3000 to build an entire home.
families feeding families
We will support our local Tomball area families through the financially trying times of the holidays. Families Feeding families is a Tomball tradition that shows the love of Jesus to those who they feed. We will host a school wide food drive for specific items needed.
Salem Lutheran Church is supporting 10 different organizations for December and January. The church will match donations up to a total of $20,000 made to these organizations. Our school will support: Abba's House, God's Garage, Our Daughters' House and TOMAGWA.
student leadership - BEAR
Salem Lutheran School's 7th Grade Leadership Class willwill be leading the initiative to support BEAR. Students will be encouraged to provide new pajamas and cash offerings for the children under the care of CPS in Harris County.
Houston Kids against hunger
Salem students will be raising money for Kids Against Hunger to provide meals for impoverished children. The fundraising will culminate in a special event where students will get to put together meals that are purchased using the funds. Our goal is $3250 to purchase and assemble 10,000 meals.
